For social, always on teen drivers aged 16-20
Today’s young drivers have grown up always connected, and phone use behind the wheel has become normal to them. They also tend to underestimate risk, which is why lecture-style safety messaging often gets tuned out.
What moves them is different: freedom, independence, social connection, experiences over possessions, and rewards that feel immediate and meaningful.
- Who it's for
Instead of relying on fear or lectures, the Safe Roads to School and 100 Safest Days initiatives use behavioral science and incentive-based motivation to encourage safer driving in real time. Hosted in the Safe Roads Challenge (SRC) app, they reward safe choices and keep drivers engaged through gamified features.
At its core, the SRC app scores every trip. Each time a driver logs a trip with a safe score, they collect in-app rewards and earn entries toward exclusive prizes like gift cards, so every safe trip counts.
Challenges include:
- Building a safe driving streak (a safe score held over a set number of days)
- Hitting a target in a specific skill, like a phone score of 80 or higher
- Collecting Reward Zone pins by safely driving past key locations
Because scores drop for unsafe choices like speeding and phone use, drivers are encouraged to build safer habits.
In return, young drivers can win rewards that feel relevant and instant, like movie discounts, coffee runs, and savings on everyday favorites.

Presenting road safety initiatives as a lifestyle challenge to young drivers all year-round
Engaging challenges, quests, and contests unlocking exciting rewards!
During Safe Roads to School and the 100 Safest Days, young drivers can join exclusive in-app challenges, quests, and contests designed for teens that reward safer choices on the road.
Each campaign period brings its own challenges, competitions, and prizes. Safe Roads to School focuses on school zone and teen driver safety during the school year, with school-related prizes like back-to-school shopping sprees and cash scholarships. 100 Safest Days focuses on safe driving over summer break, with rewards that feel relevant and instant, like movie discounts, coffee runs, and savings on everyday favorites.
By tying safe driving to rewards teens already value, safer behavior becomes a natural outcome, not a forced message.
